Companions & Homemakers Supports Wreaths Across America

Companions & Homemakers Supports Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is a nationwide initiative characterized by three pillars: REMEMBER our fallen U.S. Veterans, HONOR those who serve, TEACH your children the value of freedom.

The organization coordinates wreathlaying ceremonies each December at more than 2,100 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad. Wreaths Across America’s mission touches the lives of thousands of school, scout, civic and religious groups, and communities across the country.

In December 2019, Companions & Homemakers honored Connecticut’s veterans and the Wreaths Across America project with a $5,000 donation to support the initiative in Connecticut, working with the director of Connecticut chapter, Max Sabrin, to purchase wreaths to be placed at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown and additional locations.

In Connecticut in 2019, Wreaths Across America was in Old Saybrook on December 10, escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders convoy, and in Middletown on December 12, with special ceremonies attended by families of veterans and members of the general public.

Wreaths Across America will return to Connecticut in 2020.  On Saturday, December 19 at 12:00 PM, Wreaths Across America will be at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown to honor our veterans, saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.

Companions & Homemakers is proud to salute the extraordinary dedication, service and sacrifice of this nation’s veterans and their families.
