Companions & Homemakers Receives 2016 Better Business Bureau Community Care Award
Companions & Homemakers is proud and honored to be this year’s recipient of the Better Business Bureau Community Cares award. This award recognizes a business’ participation with a charity and/or community organization and demonstrates the importance of participation with charity to the business and its employees.
Annually, Companions & Homemakers sponsors numerous charitable organizations in order to benefit a range of demographics, such as veterans with the Fisher House of CT and Wounded Warrior Project, American Cancer Society, MS Association, and various pet rescue organizations to name a few.
Each year Companions & Homemakers is proud to support and participate in the Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Annually, the company captains a team at locations throughout the state, followed by a luncheon for all team participants. Historically, this has been a great team building event, attended by office staff and their friends and family, as well as clients and caregivers of Companions & Homemakers. The company matches the funds for the highest raising team and individual, and since year, has presented the Alzheimer’s Association with a donation of over $30,000 from the 2015 and 2016 walks.
In July of this year, Companions & Homemakers was a local sponsor for the nationwide pet rescue initiative, Clear the Shelters, which found forever homes through over 50,000 pet adoptions. Finding homes for animals in need was a natural pairing for Companions & Homemakers, as pets make the ultimate companions. In addition to sponsorship, Companions & Homemakers staff facilitated a huge community tag sale at their Farmington campus, which rose over $14,000 for select pet rescues, such as the Connecticut Humane Society, also participating in the Clear the Shelters campaign.
Most recently, in August of 2016, Companions & Homemakers was present for the Connoisseur Media radiothon in support of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, issuing a donation of $10,000.
Companions & Homemakers understands that in order to be a leader in the industry, and as a Connecticut business, we have a social responsibility to our community. We’re proud to support the various organizations mentioned, along with many more, as a way of caring for our community. Thank you to our office staff, caregiver employees, clients, friends and family who make it possible for Companions & Homemakers to be able to give back!BACK TO BLOG
