Companions & Homemakers’ Mary Anderson Receives Alzheimer’s Association Exceptional Caregiver Award
Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter hosts an ‘Excellence In Caregiving’ luncheon to recognize the outstanding qualities and dedication of individual caregivers in caring for clients with Alzheimer’s disease. Companions & Homemakers is proud to announce that our very own caregiver, Mary Anderson, has been chosen by the association as this year’s recipient of the Excellence in Caregiving award after having been nominated by the Companions & Homemakers Berlin office!
Mary has been a professional caregiver for over 8 years, the most recent 4 as a live-in caregiver her for her current client, a gentleman out of Wethersfield, who suffers from Alzheimer’s. While often times this diseases will cause her client to become irritable, delusional and, at times, even aggressive, Mary has never wavered in her care toward him. Her calm, soothing nature has been a recipe for success in keeping her client living at home, in his familiar and preferred surroundings.
Congratulations to Mary for receiving this special recognition of which she is very deserving, and for all that she does each day in the field of caregiving.BACK TO BLOG
